Thanks for any help..

if you click on "Embed Codes" on the bottom of that image page, you'll see some BB Code things to copy.

below is what i pasted into the post to show the image you see above

Code:
[url=https://ibb.co/b2erQy][img]https://preview.ibb.co/mKwudJ/20180531_150219.jpg[/img][/url]

the link you posted above is just a link to that page, not the actual image, so it doesn't work directly as you may expect. that's how that particular image service works.

i'm also moving this to the Lounge, since it's not an AX8 topic.

We use https://xenforo.com/community/resources/s9e-media-bbcodes-pack.2476/ for media embed detection and display. It looks like ibb.co isn't a supported media hosting platform for the s9e plugin. I know Google Photos is supported. You'll need to make sure you're generating a shareable URL for the photo in Google Photos in order to embed it in a post.

For a single photo in Google Photos, click the sharing action icon:

Then click the "Get Link" sharing option:

And you'll get a link like this:

Copy that link and paste it into the body of the message. No need to use IMG tags or anything like that. The plugin detects the photo sharing link and turns it into a media embed. Like so:

You can also drag images from your computer onto the message editor and they'll be uploaded to the server and hosted from the forum server. There are limits on image size and quantities if you do it this way.

Edit: Well damn. The plugin didn't detect and expand my Google Photo link. I'll look into it. Might be a bug. It definitely works with imgur photos and albums:

Thanks Ian, much appreciated! I thought I was crazy , google didnt work. Glad you are seeing it too. lol
I asked in the Xenforo forum and Google Photos are not supported, but you can share the images with a Google Drive link and it works. You can automatically share your Google Photos with your Google Drive from your Google Photos Settings page:

Here's a Drive-shared photo -- does it work?

Edit: yes, it does.

Edit 2: Make certain your GDrive sharing links allow anyone with the link to view the file. Like this:

Dammit!!! It says the file is too large. :mad:

How do I shrink files again? I did it for my avatar but forgot. Using a 2011 Macbook Pro. Thanks

Errr, what?

K lets try this again;

IMG_1980 - Version 2.jpg

I cropped it, thought it'd still be too large. What's the largest photo size that can be uploaded?

Alright then, does it work with music too?

The answer, NO. File too large, how the heck do people post their music here and maintain quality sound?

For audio, you can just link files from soundcloud or youtube. The files won't reside on the forum server, but the post will provide a playable interface.

Ahh, starting to remember. So we still can't upload from our hard drives? Ok, I have to use Soundcloud. What do I do after I hit "share?"
