I suppose the memory / storage is still required for all the mic positions. It would clean up the UI by collapsing them together. So, maybe not a memory win.

Having endless IRs available while crafting tones is great but personally only use or even look at a very small fraction of them. While looking for inspiration I'll spin presets and miss the preset capacity of the XL
