I type it in correctly. Five times. I tried another request. Same thing with that password. So, the only way I could figure it was I created a new username. Unless an admin wants to help fix the old one.
Had a similar issue a while back. It would allow me to log in, but I couldn't view pics attached in posts or download presets in posts. Had to email support and get things reset twice. But it finally got sorted out.
