Still something missing when recording direct vs playing through my Atomic...
There's more hiss and less gain and clarity and I don't know why. It's like the noise gate is gone when I record direct...

Anyway here it is, let me know what I think.

Awesome tone!! Its nice and smooth on the top end. I tend to shy away from tones that are too raspy with the distortion when it comes to the highs.

Comparing it to JP's tone, you will need more top end. I know he talks a lot about keeping the highs down but they are always really present. Your tone sounds a bit darker. I would suggest starting with the top end. What power section are you using or is that a stock mark iv setting?

However, I still think it sounds great!

I downloaded the patch from this forum and added some delay and reverb and made some small adjustments. It uses the Recto Orange amp and the Recto2 cab.
Kinda embarrassing, but I actually have no idea what "top end" and a lot of other terms used about the axe-fx lol...

Feel free to enlighten me

Excellent! Top end means treble. Mids are in the middle and bottom end is where the Bass lies! Low, Mid, High

It has a compression block, although that's mostly used on cleans right? I have a lot less drive and more master vol, trying to find the best combination. It's true that having more master vol and decreasing the drive is better on high gain amps?
