Number of IRs in Cab Pack #3

Was wondering how many IRs are supposed to be in Cab Pack #3? The info at OwnHammers site says that there should be 2610 IRs. Yet, when I checked the numbers of IRs in Cab Pack #3 there are only 546 IRs.

Am I missing something? Seems like with a $100.00 price tag that there should be the same number as what the OwnHammer site has. If I'm only getting 546, I would have rather bought them from Ownhammer.

I am only guessing here but I would say with the fractal version you only get the files that work in the ax fx, with the own hammer version there would be multiple file types of the same IR.

I recently purchased The Heavy Hitters Collection from OwnHammer. The price was $49.99. I just re-downloaded it to check to see how many IRs there are that are usable for the AXE. There are multiple files that you can download. There are 5 Zip files covering The AXE, the Kemper, Atomic, Line 6, and Two Note. I downloaded the Zip file for the AXE and there are 10,100 IRs. All of which unique with no duplicates or IRs for other platforms.

but that is not cab pack 3. things have changed in IR's since then, prices have gotten much lower with many now recording and offering IR packs IR's.

That doesn't make any sense to me. In my opinion, they should lower the price for cab pack #3.
If what you are saying is true, why is OwnHammers 412-MES-TR IR pack $14.99 with 603 IRs? It's the second IR pack that they made.

Cab pack 3 does not have all the speaker choices as on ownhammer site
If this is true, that would be some BS if you ask me. Fractal charges the same price as OwnHammer for less speaker choices? $99.99. If this is the case, I won't be very happy

I just checked both sites and OwnHammer lists 35 speakers and Fractal lists 38 speakers. Both covering all 3 cabs.

you do not have to buy it.
It would have been nice if Fractal could state how many IRs are included in the cab pack BEFORE you buy it so one could make an informed decision, don't you think? One is led to believe that they are getting the same product as you would from OwnHammer.

Comparing both lists from both sites, Fractal has 3 more speakers listed. But 1470 less IRs.

So you were told that there is supposed to be less IRs in cab pack #3?

Just a suggestion, forum members upset about prices " I complain also" need to accept the reality of our economy. Cliff and the other FAS founders need to make a living as well, a good living even, is not out of the expected. I can only imagine some of the headaches FAS personnel have to deal with in this business; lucky blokes.

I have no problem with a company making money. I get it. And I know that Cliff goes well beyond what other companies do for their customers.
And I don't have a problem paying $100.00 for a cab pack. But when one is led to believe that they are getting the same product as another seller sells, I do have a problem with that. The reason I bought them from Fractal rather than OwnHammer, was because I wasn't sure if WAV files could be mixed in Cab Lab. And I wouldn't have to bother converting the WAV files to SYX files as they are already converted in Cab Pack 3.

You make a good point, if the ad misled it needs to be corrected. IRs are the most powerful part of the sound in this domain, the better the IR the better the sound.

I think it would be a good idea to let us know how many IRs are included in each cab pack. Most of the packs that OwnHammer has, have the number of IRs listed.

the fractal packs I have purchased may not have as many IR's in them as some 3rd party producers but they seem to all be very usable. I have purchased some packs with lots of IR's and most of them were bad and some were good. maybe fractal sorts these out so overwhelmed users will not be disappointed?.

This is copied and pasted from the Read Me Notes that came wit cab pack 3. Note the third paragraph down, I made it bold, italicized and underlined. According to that paragraph, there should be the same number of IRs as from OwnHammer. I'm thinking something is wrong with the download from Fractal.

Cab Pack 3: OwnHammer Studio Mix Collection - The UltraRes Edition
==================================================================

With its original "User Cabs," Fractal Audio Systems pioneered the use
of user-installable Impulse Responses (IRs) for speaker cabinet
emulation in a hardware processor.

Axe-Fx II Firmware Version 13 adds support for the new UltraRes speaker
cabinet emulation technology. This proprietary technology increases the
accuracy of speaker cabinet emulation to levels previously unattainable
without massive CPU requirements or intolerable latency. UltraRes
technology achieves the resolution of long IRs (up to 170ms) without
added CPU burden or storage requirements.

The OwnHammer Studio Mix UltraRes collection includes every IR in the
OwnHammer Studio Mix Libraries (as of Feb 7, 2014). They have been
re-created in the new UltraRes format based on original full-resolution
captures.

These IRs represent some of the most popular and well-received 3rd party
IRs in the history of the Axe-Fx and we are proud to offer them in
this highly anticipated new format.

Visit http://www.ownhammer.com for more details and additional IR offerings,
and watch for more joint productions between Fractal Audio Systems and
OwnHammer in the future.
