Noisegate Help for live use.

Have you tried using a side chained Gate? Place a Gate Block after the Amp Block and set the Gate Blocks Side Chain to INPUT 1. You may not even need to use the Input gate anymore or you can use it w/ a real low Threshold.

Check out my Wish List Thread for more info: http://forum.fractalaudio.com/axe-fx-ii-wish-list/50022-modifiers-gate-comp-threshold-ratio.html

Also, I recommend muting the strings behind the nut w/ a piece of velcro. If you have a fixed bridge w/ a tail piece, like on a Les Paul, you can mute the strings w/ a piece of velcro between the bridge and the tail piece. If you have a tremolo, you can mute the springs by filling them w/ a cotton ball by pulling it apart and then rolling between your hands, so it fits in the springs. Don't compress the cotton ball too much b/c you want it to stay a little fluffy. You can also use a small pieces of gauze in the springs. A lot of Kick drums pedals use the same thing to mute the springs.

you could also try hard gating on your riffing preset, and more relaxed gating on your soloing preset
