I have read, that he recorded the whole Empath-album with the AxeFX.My guess... He recorded with tradition amps and cabs, and ended up liking the axe tones better

He tracked with a bunch of fantastic amps, then during mixing he decided he liked the sound of the Axe-Fx better, so he re-amped the whole album through it.

Why not? Even Misha from Periphery got one, and they ended up doing the guitar tracks on the last album with the Axe3.Who wouldn't want a signature amp? Heck, even I'd do a signature amp if someone approached me. Doesn't mean I'd turn my back on the awesomeness that is Fractal Audio.
