Sixstring
Legend!
Ok so I recently bought a Carvin C66 good playing guitar but it had some tone issues that are driving me nuts. I had been contemplating on changing out the electronics and had been talking to a buddy of mine that convinced me to look at another guitar so...
Meet my new Suhr Rasmus Guthrie Govan... I got a great deal from Bo at Wild West guitars.
Fit and finnish are near perfect, the two pice Mahogany body is not a perfect match but close enough. Playability... it's a Suhr, the neck is phenomenal right out of the really nice gig bag the nicest gig bag I have ever seen. The frets are perfect all the way up the neck. The Carve is very comfortable and the radius is easy to string bend and chord with. Tone, heres where it shines for me. The clarity of the Rasmus guitar when compared to the Carvin is so much better like the tone knob was turned up. The enjoying upper mid fizz of the carvin is not there. The selection of tones from this guitar is great it's like a swiss army knife you can coax Strat, Tele, Paul and a few others with all the pickup selections in the 5 way and coil tap. The GoTo 510 trem is perfect and has no tuning issues with moderate dives the Floyd on the Carvin though it will out perform the Goto became to labor intensive for me to mess with. In short the Carvin as pretty as it is is going up for sale to help finance the Suhr.
