It’s definitely a half arsed product, neither fish nor fowl, I really can’t see what they were thinking tbh and this is coming from a long time Fractal owner/user
@Piing asked his local music store and said $800 converted to US dollars. Could be less though. It is a matter of perspective. I think this will be seen as a competitor to the Eventide H9 / H90, Line6 HX effects / H One. It will have FAS quality effects, be able to run multiple algorithms at once, offer gapless switching, feature top quality A/D D/A converters, and is in a package still suitable for a pedal board. As long as the price is reasonable, this could become a very popular choice for tube amp devotees.
for adding hardware personal stompbox (fx loop) + 4cm connection used for real ampFor what ?

Having tried the tone destroying Hx effects, I’m looking forward to a well thought out analog I/o from fractal. Why buy an expensive amp and then throw a tone suck machine between it?It’s not really a competitor to the Helix HxEffect as that is far more flexible and nearly half the price, let’s see how long the VP8 takes
You can do that by using the reverb block to do both delay and reverb. See how the echo plate and echo room types workComp-drive-mod-delay-rev
A lot of players use comp to boost their clean or dirt sound, e.g. Andy Timmons and Andy Wood. Although i’m nowhere close to those players, i like to do the same.Just saying that in my experience, unlike the other mentioned fx, a compressor is not a required fx for a lot of guitar players. If it's for you, perfectly fine.
don't think so - but great for what it is.the VP4 (FX4) is practically an FM3
The well documented tone suck is exactly what prevented me from buying an HX Effects years ago and what ultimately lead me to buy the Fractal FX8 instead.Having tried the tone destroying Hx effects, I’m looking forward to a well thought out analog I/o from fractal. I get that there’s workarounds to SOME of the sounds. But it’d be nice if we weren’t limited to 4 effects. I’ll wait for the VP8 or whatever it is.You can do that by using the reverb block to do both delay and reverb. See how the echo plate and echo room types work

I'd really love to go with the VP4 instead of the HX FX for FX quality reason but i really
hope they find a solution, if you want the Wah/Volume with one pedal, that you don't have to sacrifice two blocks.
If you want that configuration with a lead tone (1 or 2 stacked drives, delay and reverb) the 4 blocks soon come to a limit.
The VP4 can be use in 4 cm. And then you can add external pedals in front of the VP4 and post fx pedals in the return path.for adding hardware personal stompbox (fx loop) + 4cm connection used for real amp
Good call! That would be an improvementSuggestion: get rid of the text "CPU" in the top bar. Displaying the percentage suffices. Makes it less crowded.

But I believe that since there are 4 footswitches, there will be 4 blocks per Footswitch (totaling 16 blocks). If so, that's more than enough, and each block can receive up to 4 channels. No doubt it is a killer product. But 4 effects at a time is kinda limiting. Even the very basic signal chain you’d need at least 5 effects.
