A rackmountable FX unit that could be used seamlessly with the FC's would be killer.. bonus points if it can also load IR's.

See my previous reply. If you don't need amp modeling you are paying for a lot of processing power you can't use.

Maybe... I can't speak to the costs associated with the amp modeling in the AXE-FX III, but IMHO, I think an FX only box would be a loser for FAS. High-quality rack-mount units with multi-FX have been around for decades.

As previously stated, the AXE-FX III already checks all the boxes from atyourlasthourrr's post, except price point and rack size.

I am interested to see what they actually release after all the hoopla.
