UPDATED!

Hey Folks,

I really love this community and the AX8 is an amazing unit! check out my Ballerina 12/24 cover and let me know what you think of the tone I dialed in. (Update: Based on your valuable feedback, I reworked the preset and rerecorded the video with the new tone)

Hello thanks for uploading the sound, nice video. I have the ax8 new and I'm a Fractal novice, so I cannot load the syx. I'm also no Vai specialist, but I have played 1500 concerts and a good ear. For me it seems that following adjustment can bring the sound a little bit nearer to the original: FIXED HARMONY, VOICE SHIFT 1: 9 Delay 180ms, VOICE SHIFT 2: 5 Delay 360ms, Feedbacks 0, Pan one to left, the other to right, I choose a little bit higher mix. TRACK Adjust I gave to 5. May be you try it, for me it sounds a little bit more to the album. All the best! Wolfman

I found the studying of ballerina and playing it also, was a very good motivation and training for me to learn parameters of the pitchshifter. Thanks for that. The hallsound you have choosen is also very good. I never played over more than 33 years with a harmonizer live, but we did it in the studio about 1990 on a big eventide. I realized, that it costs so much, that I will not have my own. After the years I bought the AX8 and think, the harmonizer is not the same quality as the eventide 1990. I hope on an update that makes the sound quality a little bit better, so that is possible to play detuned -1 clean without fragments!

Super, I have to wait some postings that I can load up a sound, but that are only some little adjustments. I think I will make to the sound as Y channel an Mesa Boogie and make a Satriani Vai Present for this song and some shreddings. Have you tried to take the 2 switches for the amps? I found this function new and made so some 4 Channel Amps. Mostly one Fender in Combine with 1 Marshall. Always with 2 Channels switching Master, Gain and Boost by 1 step. Maybe on some concerts it will be a good thing to play one of the songs and show a little technique on guitar. Maybe there is a second useable pitchshifter for Y of the skyscraper album, or something else.
Maybe there is a way without bringing the AX8 to sweat, to make a good present in this direction.

Not sure about the Ax-8 but I'm pretty sure there is a factory preset for this song in the Axe Fx.

The update i am working on should sound way better, i was using in the video above an intelligent harmonizer and its kinda not suited for this song, the fixed harmony is the way to go, will share it tomorrow with a new video :) the new preset is way more complex than the one attached here... with a different amp that i found more suitable.

Great! It took me almost 25 years to being able playing this special piece with an authentic sound! I wanted the Eventide H3000 so bad back then.
Thanks for sharing!
