No, I found it sounded better if I left them on and sims.

I had the GM50 which I stupidly sold (although I found the firm factor clunky to use fir my purposes). I just bought a used GT800FX and besides slightly louder than I'm accustomed to fan noise it's fantastic. I'm using it with an Eleven Rack and in comparing it to my Suhr Badger it's very close.... So now I feel the need to go back to the II. The Eleven is great bang for the buck, but it's clearly the weakest link in the chain.
