Matrix 1600fx for Butt thumper?

I hooked up my Matrix that I don't use anymore for my drummers Butt thumper that's on his drum Throne and it works great for him but I wonder if it will hurt it eventually with just the kick drum nonstop hitting its input.

Nothing lasts forever but I wouldn't expect a non-clipping input signal to cause excess wear on an amplifier. Many venues run passive subwoofers on dedicated power amps every night for years on end.

I would contact Matrix and see what they say for a definitive answer.

You should be OK. I believe at one time we did a power amp module for one of the "but kicker" type devices when the normal Class D unit used to fail. Think that was deviation on our old 400w GM50 so the 1600 should be more than adequate. Just keep the fans nice and clean and give the amp a good squirt of compressed air to blow the dust out and heat sink and fan should do the job nicely when working hard.
