Master Volume Compensation FAS Question!

Hi,

Is it possible to incorporate Volume Compensation to the Master Volume knob? Same way as the compressor pedals compensate for gain reduction, but in this sense it would be for the amount that you push and pull back on the Master Volume. Thanks!

It doesn't work because the volume doesn't increase linearly once the power amp starts to distort. The original Axe-Fx did this and you still had to tweak the Level because the volume would go down.

Why not use the output level control to compensate?

Yes that's the route to go. I just figured it would be easy to incorporate automatic volume compensation on the master volume knob, but as Cliff stated that it's not a linear know, so it's wouldn't work the same as something like the compressor pedal. It makes sense since there is a point in all the master volume amps that the amp just saturates, which is different for every amp, so it wouldn't be just a black and white volume increase/decrease every time you raise and lower the master volume.
