Okay - Saturday April 19 10:55 Austin Texas time -- my website is back up and live again.

Thanks for your patience! Should be working smoothly.

You can login under ACCOUNT and get any recent updated zip downloads or place orders.

Wonder which TonePacks have latest firmware/updated or not?

Just go to my website and in menu bar click on LATEST UPDATES.

You can also find the latest firmware version on each TonePack's individual product page, at the bottom (click the triangle you see next to "Latest Firmware Versions"). It looks like this at bottom of each product page:

Now, I'm back to work on updates! ;)

-AB

Guys - I am back from two week vacation, and was ready to pump out the FM3 update this weekend for LiveGold to match the recent FM9 and III related firmware/TonePack updates.

But I did notice- today - a new fw 28.05 for the III is released.... that “remasters” a group of amps that will require a as soft reset... and so that work will requite me to update over 150 sounds including GEQs in some Mesa Boogies (see firmware 28.05 release notes) due to amp soft resets.

So for now to get FM3 gang up to speed I'll just get FM3 updated to most recent firmware for that by this weekend.

Then we'll all have to wait for the III and FM9 and FM3 to all get the new seven amp remasters (150+ sounds in LiveGold) in a few weeks... beyond my control!

Or you can learn to reset the affected amps yourself -- see Yek and Fremen's posts in the thread.

FM3 users rejoice! LiveGold with the latest 10.0pb firmware is ready in your accounts.

READ THE RELEASE NOTES - I had to change some Reverb scene channel settings as the large Plate was maxing out the CPU on y -non-turbo on the latest firmware for the FM3.

As of May 26 2025, all three LiveGold Banks have been updated for Axe-Fx III users of latest firmware 28.04, firmware 9.01 for the FM9, and firmware 10.public beta for the FM3.

The "LATEST! - MAY 2025" Update is now available to existing customers in your "My Downloads" area of your account at www.austinbuddy.com after login.

Hi AustinBuddy! One quick question: i've loaded the march 2025 update on my FM9 and AXE-FX III, shall i update again with the may 2025 package or can i skip it? I see that you have updated some reverbs to reduce CPU load, is this the only difference or there's something else?

GREAT question @Casagni.

Your 2025 March Axe-FX III and FM9 files are pretty much the same as the May Update, with these exceptions:

1. The preset names will still end in -CX3 and not the new one for May -- '25. (For 2025)

2. The PVH amp models were not updated in March, but after (in May) per a new firmware - so you may want to use the MAY zip file and move just those PVH presets those over using Preset Manager browser window and Import function.

3. Your March presets have Reverb Channel Ds "Large Plate" ON in certain scenes as originally intended (Scene correct) and would not be switched to Channel C London Plate as in the May 2025 version.

4. I think I also raised the TONE knob on some Dynacomp compressors where used, it was defaulting to zero (which is way too low and will sound dark on some) and originally in March I think had set to at Tone=2 -- you should look and try with Tone between 3.5 and 5 to get the brightness you want.

Hi everyone, using my friend ChaptGPt AI, I fixed the zip file issue Windows users were having, getting invalid file messages.

If you download now, it should work fine.

It happened because I put the new (updated) optional CS controller Layout files inside the bank folder by each unit, so the long directory path exceeded windows 260 limit.

Instead I just made an OPTIONAL file folder and move them over -- that has layouts and global sys files for the III, FM9, and FM3.

Sorry about that -- and it should be okay now. Thanks!

Just tried and still getting the error message. Moved folder to my desktop and same message with file too long.
Huh - Dang it AI cleared it after ID'ing for me what folders/files were causing issues and shortened. #fail

The windows problem it is reads EVERYTHING from root to last file as ON file/folder == and if it is over 260 characters then you get this "Invalid zip" error. The files ARE there. Other unzip types like RARs I'm told don't have that issue, its the default Windows one.

The likely problem guys is the newer layouts for Fm3, FM9, and AX3 files I added. It's fine on my Mac. i hate to delete them all and deprive you, but that would help solve the issue.

So -- I have to go back and cut the file names down a third time -- but I just got out of kidney stone surgery today (and loupy on pain meds) -- so this has to wait a day or two.

If someone who owns LiveGold now wants to PM me their email I can use them as guinea pigs to test fixes until it's fixed, that would be great.
I don't have Windows machines, never have. I bought WinZip to be my ZIp for these on purpose thinking it would circumvent the issue from the past and alert me if problem for Windows, guess not. Sorry.

The length will be different on every user's computer because they won't all go into the same base path.

If you put them in C:\IRs\ the longest path will be shorter than if you put them into C:\this_is_my_folder\where\austin_buddy_IRs_go\.

@unix-guy - thank you. People have said extract the files to your desktop/short path and then you can move them where you want. A few people still are struggling with this.

If someone just can't make it unzip they can email me at heybuddy @ austinbuddy.com with their email they ordered under and I can manually send an unzipped file, subject to email file size limits of course.

Unzip to Windows desktop for the win (C:\Desktop), then move the unzipped folder to where it feels cozy.
I've had no issues unzipping prior updates. Not sure about the latest updated zip. I can give it a shot this evening.

C:\Desktop is really C:\users\your user name\desktop\.

Go with something like C:\irs\ for the shortest possible path. If you're not an admin on your computer you may not be able to create a directory at the root of C.

Ok just tried a few times and had success. Downloaded and was able to make folder C:windows/IR . Then moved Austin file there got the error msg first try. Rebooted just in case and shortened Austin filename to May25axe3fw28.04 and it unzipped with no issues. FYI I am running windows 11 pro with default unzip program. A relatively new motherboard gigabyte x870e chipset and AMD 7600 chip. Hopefully this helps anyone else unless I am the only one having the unzip issue. This started for me a few updates back with the filename too long with Austin's updates. want to say at least 3 to 4 updates back. Thanks Austin, really love this preset pack for getting great tones and then able to tweak to my setup.

ah, thanks so much to you all for the feedback.

the problem is I need to ID firmwares by unit preferably in top-level file zip names — so ya’ll know which is which especially if you have older ones.

am gonna take a look at my nomenclature system this weekend and see if I can so it smarter and solve this problem. glad to know not everyone has it though.

I may drop the . period extensions (28.04 becomes 28, 9.01 becomes 9, 10.0pb becomes 10… we’ll see.

Just another tip for unzipping: change the folder name you're unzipping to.

When you unzip, you are prompted for the path to unzip too.

The default is the current path where the zip file lives plus the zip file name minus the extension.

So, a file saved to C:\Desktop\SomeZipFileName.zip will extract to a folder named C:\Desktop\SomeZipFileName\ if you take default options.

However, when prompted you can pick another path or specify a different folder name for the "SomeZipFileName" part.

I've done a ton of tech support over the decades, and I can promise you, a significant number your customers will NEVER understand things like windows file path character limits, how to extract only subfolders, or read instructions.

If you can't shorten

D:\AB\May 2025 Live Gold\For FM9_fw9.01_LiveGold_MAY_2025\FM9-OPTIONAL AusBuddy GlobalSys+Individual Layout Pages\FM9 AusBuddy Global Sys+All_Layouts-Use FractalBot\FM9-OPTIONAL-AusBuddy-fw9_GlobalSystem+All_Layouts.syx

people will bug you for eternity.

D:\AB\May 2025 Live Gold\FM9_9.01\OPTIONAL GlobalSys+Layout Pages\OPTIONAL-GlobalSystem+All_Layouts.syx

is 116(!) fewer characters.

Windows sucks ass, and you already avoid it like the plague, don't let it be a source of headaches for the rest of your life.

By the way, the presets are, as always, fantastic. I'm in a new band with self-confessed "tone snobs" and they gush over how good Live Gold sounds.

AB - I personally use all of your preset packs, except for the bass (which I may use in the future).

I like to be able to differentiate between the LiveGold, Naked Amps and Plus presets, as I sometimes have all three versions of an amp setup in my available presets.

I'd suggest something like xxx-L2025, xxx-N2025, and xxx+2025 in the prefixes, to differentiate between the setups (similar to the -cx3 you've been using, but a couple of characters shorter.) I'd prefer a modifier to indicate which preset pack it is from. I sort my presets more or less by amp models, and it's helpful to know whether it's a LiveGold or Naked Amps format of preset, since one is more effected than the other, typically.
