I have a question that I haven't found the answer to yet. What does the empty bank tool do? Does it simply empty a bank to make new presets?

It’s a way to load an empty bank.

Let’s say you want to have a “my fav presets” bank you can put stuff in as you audition presets.

So load the empty bank into Bank A. Then audition TonePacks you load into Banks BCD, and use the manage presets function to copy the ones you like the best/wanna use live gigs over into bank A. Thats the idea. A clean slate to make a favorites banks

So there is a new NOVEMBER LiveGold Update it your accounts.

Minimal changes from last update, but keeping up with the firmwares for you. I also tried to fix and improve some FC layout options.

Annual Holiday TonePack sale starts on Black Friday and runs to December 31st.

Hi everyone - Fractal Audio released a new firmware for the Axe-FX III - firmware 28 public beta 4. Nothing comparable yet for the FM9 and FM3 but we all know they will be coming later/soon!

This new firmware does NOT affect any amp tones in my TonePacks.

HOWEVER, it WILL affect some Compressor blocks I use in many cases, and those all need to be reset.

Just wanted you to know if you install this new firmware and use any of my TonePacks and your preset volume changes noticeably, you know why.

For example, Naked Amps and the 2024+ PlusPack use a compressor block post-cab, and that was originally dialed in as a FB Studio Comp -- a type which no longer exists in the new firmware, it was replaced by a new JFET Studio Comp (like an 1176 style). The Dyna-comps were also replaced with versions. The comp block will need a reset under the new firmware.

Most LiveGold presets however do NOT use any post-cab compressor block - so most of them should be okay afte rupdating (but not all). The LiveGold ones that use compressors early in signal chain (like Fender/country) if it's a Dyna-Comp will be wrong, it may affect volume levels, and needs to be reset.

I’ll be spending a few weeks going through 2024 +PlusPack LiveGold, Naked Amps (which uses the old FB Studio Feedback Comp in almost every preset post-cab), and 200+ Bass TonePacks (used in some DI scenes post-cab, and the pedalboard before amp comp needs to be fixed) some of you own to readjust the COMP block settings.

If you want to reset the Comp block yourself on your III post-cab, here are the new JFET Studio Comp settings I am using for those updates. The higher the threshold, the less you will hear any compression effect - meaning, if you raise the -33db to -19 d, watch the gain meter and when it shows no gain reduction. I aim for an average -2db gain reduction on that right side meter compression (+/- 1db) - you can adjust to taste.



AFTER we get public release firmwares equivalent to fw 28 for the FM9 and FM3, then shortly after will make download updates available in user accounts on thew website (not yet! I'll post here when they are available!).

Brit Rock #1 will need a good bit of work too (and more time to update but worth it...).

By the way -- I have done A/B/C tests of the JFET Studio against 1176 Audio plug-ins (Blue Stripe and Rev E) and the Fractal new JFET Studio Comp is SPOT ON. You are gonna love it!

This message is only for FM3 alone users that use it as stand alone (no FC footcontroller).

Apparently there is an issue in zip fiel Nov. 2024 FM3 folder for the Global layout file, where for FM3 stand-alone users the amp layout page is not showing up/is blank.

So.. as a temporary workaround, I am including below a LayoutPage for FM3 stand-alone that inserts in on Layout page 5 [IMPORT LAYOUT (Not All!] using FC Layout Edit).

This layout keeps the looper per factory layout setting, BUT adds two new views that give you access the CS2 to CS6 amp controllers.

I'll fix this in the next update/zip file once the new compressors come out in future FM3 firmware - but you can use this in the interim.

LiveGold is good for firmware 8+ for FM9, and firmware 9+ for the FM3. Once Fractal releases new firmwares for those, I'll get those updates included. But didn't want the Axe-FX III users tohave to wait much longer.

For the III -- the 2024 +Pluspack will be updated very soon, 1400+ Naked Amps and 200+ Bass.... they are almost done but I need to tweak the compressors more.

Should be easy to make an FM9 and FM3 March/April update version for those units AFTER Fractal releases a PUBLIC final for those units (not the beta). I'll post here when I do.

So you guys know, for fw28.01 for the Axe-Fx III, I fixed all the compressors, univibes, Pi fuzzes, ands then shined up some of the EVH presets.

Also did a little re-leveling in the Marshall-styles amp block for the Captain Hook (which now uses Dyna-Cabs). Few amps may be hot!

Okay everyone -- 1000+ LiveGold is updated for the III (firmware 28.02) and FM9 (firmware 9).

The zip file is labeled LATEST! - MARCH 2025 and in the downloads area of your account after you login.

These preset names will look the same as the November ones -- but I have changed the compressors, uni-vibes, spring reverbs, and pi-fuzzes plus a few little other things.


Nothing for FM3 version yet, we await a Fractal firmware update for it. However, some of you FM3 Only (No FC-6 or Fc12) users reported the layout file from November was not working.


Also.. for FM3 users ONLY (not using additional FCs), am attaching a single layout page you can load over the existing Looper one. It keeps the looper, but adds the CS2 to CS6 amp controllers switches.

You use the FM3-Edit in FC Edit mode, select layout page 5, then IMPORT this single page over it -- the rest stay as factory defaults.

It's on your end.

You are probably unzipping in a folder with a really long name?

I believe Windows limits file paths to 255 characters.

If on Windows, unzipping it to your desktop usually works. Then just move it to your desired location.
