This is the LPD Tone Clone preset for the song He Man Woman Hater from the Extreme album Pornograffiti. The preset also includes the delay block setup to play Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee.

If there were ever one tone to rule them all, this would be at the top of my list. It has everything I love in a distorted guitar tone. Grind, chirp, thonk, thud, honk, and sizzle. Plus the harmonics literally fly off the neck. It's aggressive, fat and percussive. Not TMA or external matching on this one, just good old fashioned listen, tweak, repeat until it's there. I believe it's there.

I will apologize for my inner Nuno....he wasn't quite on his game today :)

I'd owe you another beer! Hmmm I see a theme developing here. I agree as well, such a wicked rock tone (understatement). Nuno (IMO) has the perfect amount of old EVH mixed with his own funky thing to put him in my top 10 fav guitarists of all time. I almost said top 5 but it gets really crowded up there and it'd require a lot of thought.

Have you listened to their latest Saudades de rock? It's easily one of my favs with such a killer tone as well.
 
I couldn't tell. I'm thinking maybe it was the right channel that was the match and it was only the playing that's making me think that. It's not bad, just not how I remember the original track (though it's been probably a decade since I've listened to Pornograffiti). The tone match is spot on. Sounds stellar.
 
Yep, I sure remember where I was when I first heard this song. I was with my sisters and parents on a car (well... Chevy Astro van) trip when my sister hands my dad the Extreme CD. Up until then, all I had heard from them was "More Than Words" and I'm thinking "awwwww man.... easy-listening chick rock is laaaame!" So she tells him to put it on track 11 and "Flight Of The Wounded Bumble Bee/He-Man Woman Hater" comes on. My jaw drops at the awesomeness. And I'm still blown away to this day by Nuno's guitar tone. Great job groovenut!
 
Sounds awesome. Pornograffiti is my all time favorite rock guitar album. I spent years trying to get the Nuno tone back in the day. I owned the ADA MP1 setup he used live and used to talk to Todd Langner when he worked at ADA and got all his settings. He told me "Nuno likes lots of speaker breakup". He always had Greenbacks and cranked his ADA rig. I eventually bought one of the first 5 Langner preamps after he left ADA that I then had modded by Bogner when he was at Make N Music in CA and traded it for a Marshall 4x12 cab when I was about 19 or 20. WHAT A WISE MOVE, since they sell on ebay now for $2,200+. I'm going to go cry now and listen to the sweet Nuno tone again and try and feel better.

Nuno is truly one of the unsung gifts to guitar rock. If not THE, one of THE greatest talents of that generation.
