Lets talk tap tempo switches

Maybe it's just me...but I can't use a metal switch for tap tempo.

I don't get it. The tempo was always fine when I used a Boss style switch. Ever since I started using a metal switch it always seems wrong.

Anybody agree?

Mine is the same as Java's, square sustain pedal. To me, the perfect tap pedal is the one that is closest to the floor and has the shortest, lightest action.

I'm gonna bring this topic up again just to clarify something. I need a tap tempo switch to use on my Axe-Fx and I agree that I don't want a clicky metal switcher.

Can I use a square sustain pedal through the pedal ports of my Ground Control Pro to control tap on my Axe-Fx?

If you are all using the sustain pedals to control tap tempo on your Axe-FX, I'm assuming what I want to do is possible, it's just I'm so new to this whole midi and rack setup, I need help to confirm from all you experts here.
