...I never skip his videos. Without any sarcasm, he has what gear demos are lacking in: data presentations.Calling Leo Gibson...
any noticeable noise with 4cm?I haven’t measured latency. All I can say is my buddy brought his Soldano Astro over last night and we hooked up the VP4 in 4CM and it was f**king glorious. I had a drive and univibe in front of the amp with delay and reverb running parallel in the loop. I didn’t feel like I lost any connection with the amp like you might with other gear and I had played the amp plugged straight in for a while before connecting the VP4.
Nope. It’s really a great experience.any noticeable noise with 4cm?
that is encouraging to hearNope. It’s really a great experience.
About 1.2ms.
And it be even lower with SPDIF connection to FM3, if I got that right from another thread? In total, so conversion plus processing?
from the FM3 to VP4 - no SPDIF input on FM3And it be even lower with SPDIF connection to FM3, if I got that right from another thread?
Certainly makes the H90 look archaic with its 5ms plus latency, or over 10 using loops.About 1.2ms.
Drive blocks have to add at least .5 ms per drive block. Still have to oversample in the drive section. In total, so conversion plus processing?
Do Drive blocks add additional latency?
Not necessarily. Depends on the oversampling filter kernel. A linear phase filter will have latency (more correctly: group delay). A minimum phase filter will have almost no latency.Drive blocks have to add at least .5 ms per drive block. Still have to oversample in the drive section.
Learning something new every day!Not necessarily. Depends on the oversampling filter kernel. A linear phase filter will have latency (more correctly: group delay). A minimum phase filter will have almost no latency.
Interesting. Not necessarily. Depends on the oversampling filter kernel. A linear phase filter will have latency (more correctly: group delay). A minimum phase filter will have almost no latency.
Are the drives min phase or linear in the VP4?Not necessarily. Depends on the oversampling filter kernel. A linear phase filter will have latency (more correctly: group delay). A minimum phase filter will have almost no latency.
