Latency Issue With FM3 Plugged Into MacBook Pro.

Hi Folks,

I'm new to using digital modeling, played as a pro for years with tube amps.

When I plug headphones into my FM3 it sounds great, no latency.

When I plug it into my mac using a USB cable I get latency.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've tried using it in a DAW adjusting sample rate, but no change.

Could the USB to USB-C adapter be causing it?

If you search, I think there’s a great thread on the DAW’s by @GlennO

I would look at buffer size. I think I run at 64.

Also, I think how your monitoring the guitar via daw makes a difference.

I print wet from the Frackle directly with no wait and see.

What is the rest of your setup: Are you using the FM3 as the interface or an external audio interface? How are your speakers/monitors connected?

I'm using the FM3 as my interface. Plugged into the mac directly and using Loopback - Using headphones

That just means you're monitoring through your DAW. Instead, you should monitor direct. You'll find complete instructions for how to set up your computer and FM3 in the recording guide here:

I'm not using a DAW though?
Loopback introduces latency due to it's routing. My understanding is that Loopback is generally used to regulate the latency from multiple sources, to make them the same. Still, any software that you route your signal through and use as playback, whether this or DAW, will have some latency.
