a little dip around the 500Hz mark gives the bass a little more elbow room..

bass and low-mids do not make good bed fellows..
you can be strong with one or the other, but rarely both together
 
been goofing around with the boosted up JCM800 again today...

jeez...
I got to find a way of anding this into my stock tone harem...
it just rocks....

clarky - just as a silly side note, autocorrect on my Mac always changes 'clarky' into 'clanky'... always makes me chuckle, but then again, I do have my mothers daft sense of humour ;)

I have been known to be Clanky...
but it all depends upon how well I've been mic'd up... lmao...

Guitar Rig only has one major draw back...
you can't use it as a door stop..
and it is on this minor detail that makes the Pod come out on top...
but only just...
 
just an FYI, the triptik modern doesn't use a cathode follower so it shouldn't have changed in 11. You can tell if it uses the cathode follower by looking at the default preamp comp setting. If it is at 0, no cathode follower.
