is it possible?

so my set up is that i have my axe fx ultra running into a SS poweramp via the unbalanced outs then from my poweramp to a 4x12 guitar cab. i also have it running through a P.A via the balanced outs . my problem is that i dont like using cab sims when running through my mesa cab. tones sound much more authentic with the sims off, but i need to leave them on for the sake of the P.A if i want to play D.I through the system rather than mic the cab. is it possible to have the cabs sims going through one output(balanced) and not the other(unbalanced)? or is it possible to have one tone going through the unbalanced output, and then a completely different tone going through balanced?

If I'm reding this right then no, as the signal to these two outputs can't be seperated. What I did once was branch off an 'FX Send' block before the Cab IR, run the FX send output to your power amp then cab and use your XLR/Balanced outs to your PA.

If you want no cab sims on Output 1 (to PA) and with cab sims on output 2 (to amp and cab), then all you need to do is add an Effects Loop block branching off your signal chain just *before* the cab block. Sort of like this:

input --- wah --- amp --- del --- rev --- cab --- shunt --- shunt --- output
...........................................\-- FxLoop

You can check the on-line manual in the wiki (http://axefxwiki.guitarlogic.org/index. ... .2FAux.Out) for more details.

I used to do that all the time when I had an amp and cab. It works fine. The only problem is that the cab block must be placed at the far right of your signal chain, otherwise any effects placed to the right of the branch to the fx loop block will only affect your Output 1 signal, and will be omitted from output 2.

In BBN's scheme you have to move the cab block on the second row.

In this scenario, the FXLoop block cannot be placed on the last colum (the axe will automatically connect it to the output).

yes, right on.
a screen print from the Axe would have been a better pic....just don't have it on this PC

Yeah, BBN's picture does NOT give you what you want (it would apply cab sims on the signal going to your amp and cab, and would *not* apply cab sims to the signal going to the PA). But like GiRa said, if you move the cab block onto the second row, all's cool. Of course, also like GiRa said, avoid putting the FXLoop in the last column, because that would automatically connect it to the output.

Sorry!!!
My brain isn't working today....I had it backwards:

To run them both from output1: run the cab as the last block, branch off right before it and run parallel through a shunt. Both the cab block and the shunt connect to the output and you can set the output mixer balance hard left and right.
Plug the outputs accordingly.

Make sure you run full mono in that case. Chorus and enhancer screw with the left/right signal phase. n' Stuff.
