Is it possible to use external switch for tap tempo?

I see from manual that Ext switches can only be used to control CCs. But, tempo is a CC (14). However, I'm assuming that you only have 2 values for tempo in an external switch so it could not be used for tap tempo.

Anybody have any workarounds for this? Would love to use an external, off the MFC, for the switch I use most often (Tap).

Thx!

The value sent for CC#14 does not select the tempo directly, rather any value sent triggers a tap for timing. You'll want a momentary type switch and assign it to CC#14 with the ON value set to default and the OFF value set to OFF. If you leave the Off value set to 0 or any other value, it will send the tap when you both press and release the switch and will mess up your timing. Setting it to OFF makes it send only one message per button press. Downside to using an external switch is you won't get the tempo blinking LED like you do with the regular tap tempo IA on the MFC.
