Someone wants me to export the starfinder IR from the legacy bank to use in a DAW IR loader or the Axe Fx ultra. Is this possible/legal? Are the factory cab downloadable somewhere?

no. pretty sure they're licensed specifically for Axe Hardware.

They also don't exist outside the Axe firmware afaik, so it's not just as licensing question.

How would you get it into the Ultra?

Factory IRs are not available outside of the hardware...

I was just curious because I don’t do anything in regards to IR’s via cab lab or anything. I had already told this individual that it most likely wasn’t possible, and that his best bet was to buy the pack from the amp factory since they are the ones that made it, just wanted to confirm with more knowledgeable people.

Well this person doesn’t have the a product to get it off of, and I don’t have a daw.

This is what I know about that Starfinder set of IR files.

I bought them from Andy at Amp Factory when they first came out and fell in love with them.

At some point, he pulled them from sale as they were going to be featured in an app the he was developing.

A few years later when the app did not surface for sale, I inquired about licensing his pack for resale so that he could generate income from those files. I thought it might be a win win for both of us.

He declined my offer and as far as I know, the app featuing the Starfinder IR files has yet to launch.

That's as much as I know.

It's a shame really. People ask me about capturing a Starfinder 4x12 but the cost of one of those in original condition or for the modern reproduction is so expensive, it would be impossible for me to break even on them.

I wish someone was local to me and would be able to lend me one for a few weeks to do a proper modern capture as a dynacab.

If your friend really wants it, he should invest in the files. They are stellar.
