With DeMux and DeMix, plus tapers, you're basically able to do, in the software realm, something much like what the SoundSculpture Switchblade products can do in the hardware realm: Fade one routing in while another routing fades out. Whole effects chains could smoothly transition from one combination to another...not just by crossfading left-to-right, but by switching between multiple optional signal flows.

Which would be killer.

You can run it 6 in, 2 out or 2 in, 6 out. Lukather used to use 2 units to send a stereo signal to 3 units and get 3 stereo returns from those units.
