IMPORTANT! Use the 9V 1.3A adapter provided with your VP4

I had an issue with the CS6 being at the point of overload causing my VP4 audio to drop out. I could get it back by pressing foot switches 1+2 and selecting presets (or scenes) ..but pulling the 200mA ish L6 wireless unit off the board fixed it completely. It has been rock solid powering the VP4, 3 drives and a comp, and a cloudburst.

Did you use this cable with your CS6 on 2 of the 500m outputs?

I am not sure if you were able to try this but running the two outputs greatly reduces the CS6 overloading and allows it to pull current from 2 outputs combining into 1.
My setup has the VP4, a Shure GLXD16+ wireless and a Crybaby Jr. wah. I've been using this for more than 25 gigs and rehearsals now and I have not had one issue. If you just have 1 cable to your VP4, there is the possibility that this may be causing an issue, no question.

My other board has the CS6 running the VP4 from 2 outputs, a Crybaby Wah, my Soldano SLO dual pedal, Shure GLXD16+ wireless and an IR loader pedal. Again, no issues ever.

The cs6 will provide more than the rated current on its outputs as long as the total system current draw doesn't exceed 1600mA. (1900mA for the cs7)

That's where I was pushing it.
I should have measured the voltage drop across a resistor at each output and summed the total system current draw. The L6 wireless put it over the edge when it was charging the transmitter.

Despite the extra care and feeding of the external power supply, I love it immensely for not having the chassis grounded for the IEC fed CUI internal supplies. That is a remarkable improvement in noise performance.
 
Does that mean the CS6 doesn't have isolated outputs?? If so, how can an output draw more than it is supposed to? I don't get it.

I'm gonna go Cioks with the Crux addon anyway I think.

That was indeed confirmed for me by multiple sources. A PS like the Mono was designed differently, as are the Sweetfoot power supplies, and I would not use them in the same way. Cioks is maybe more ideal, but you should be fine with the OneSpot.

I was researching a noise issue I was experiencing when using the Mono or Sweetfoot. Both are still good supplies, and I would have to go back and read the emails to relay the technical details that were explained to me.
 
Hello, i´m new into this site. I have an old Digitech RP200A and, from my experience, those multi effects have an special adaptor that delivers AC voltage. I believe those old digitech units worked with AC voltage in their internal circuitry instead of DC voltage as many stompboxes or guitar pedals do. I guess if you use any of the two related options, will fry the VP4 for sure and will void warranty. I´m using an old "oneSpot" to feed my VP4 because it came with a long cable and delivers up to 1700mA.

I was not able to reply on Pima 1234 Post about two options to consider as replacement. I guess those recommendations are not correct.
 
Definitely not taking any chances and only using the original power supply with VP4. If I am to extend it with a 90 degree straight end of the original power supply, which extender would you recommend?

Am I right in thinking a 12V power supply with 1A will be 12W. And this is close to 11.7W, maybe so close it's ok? My pedal power 3 has only this option, I can't combine two 660ma 9V's it doesn't have them. I make it that the cioks guys are doing 9 x 1.32 = 11.88W which is also slightly over, but very small. Mine is 0.3W over - kablammo?
 
Any recommendations on a power supply/brick that will run both a VP4 and AM4? Building a new pedalboard and would prefer not using two AC wall warts (not that there is anything wrong with that).
