I know that this is a generic question and there are thousands of variables...
Generally speaking do you prefer to use a constant IR / dynacab and mess with the rest or you use a "history-correct" can for each amp?
Just curious on the approach

I usually start with the stock cab of an amp. If I make a patch from scratch, I do some research on what cab style, fits a specific amp. Like closed back, open back, what type of speaker, how many of them etc. I havent really invested in custom IRs from the market or other people's IRs. Although I hear lots of good words for some of these. For example John Petrucci's IR pack seems like a great deal for modern patches. I might have a look at it at some point. The cab section on the signal chain is a huge deal, and I admit I am not any pro on the subject, but more like a permanent explorer of what else could I try and simply close my eyes and try to listen how it sounds and feels when I play. How do you go about it? I am also curious on what other people choose in their Cab section.

In my little world as a bedroom player, I tend to use the same cabinets a lot.
I've found peace (especially for high gain sounds) by combining 2x12s (like the Stealth) or sometimes adding a 1x12.

I also have a couple of mixes created with Mikko Reflex (which is basically a special 1x12) mixing Mesa and Marshall.
Trying to play as much as possible and not get lost in the endless choices, I preferred to use 2-3 cabinets and play with all the other settings.
Among other things, I always tend to look for the sound I have in my head, rather than emulating the sound of some artist... and it turns out that even if I change amplifiers, the sound always ends up in a similar place.

Interesting approach. Sometimes the combinations of cabs offers something really unique, or adds a bit of extra clarity to some patches. Cab section is a whole new world of options and it can consume you really. The possibilities with our Fractals are literally endless. I just love the fact that the deeper I dive into it, the more I find and enjoy.
