I have to buy this!

I have exhausted my spending for 2024 on gear but hot damn I have some serious GAS for this unit for 2025. I'd love a hybrid tube/digital rig as I often just stick to the same 2 or 3 models 99% of the time anyhow. I'd love to see how this is used in the signal chain with the Axe Fx III.

Four cable like an amp then run out to either FRFR or something like a neutral power amp and guitar cabs. I’m the same regarding basic sounds . I use about 3.

Gas totally left me since my first fractal unit, still no resurgence of that addiction. Go for it if you feel it's what you need.

If I were in a different place in my "gear journey", I think I'd be all over this thing. Sounds fantastic, and the whole power amp modeling/IR thing is super useful. That said, it's in the Axe, and I have already fudged my "I'm not a collector" rule with amps, so I doubt I'll be grabbing the real thing. But I'm not gonna lie, it is kinda tempting. Looks like a great preamp.

You will be able to get close . I still use tube gear and you can tell the difference as the player.
Mick from That Pedal Show gave his take on this and it's pretty much that. They won't do a blind test vs modellers on the show. He said, on the topic of vintage guitars, amps, and using pedals, that it's what inspires you as a player. Countless forums have done the blind listening test and no on has been able to call it accurately. So if forums full of nerds can't tell the difference the average listener won't be able to, and they don't care. I've been on the fence with what I want to go with, and this Soldano isn't helping.

It’s about how it feels to play. This feels amazing, responsive and alive. The audience doesn’t care if you play a PV bandit but I’m not going too.

I mean, you might be on the wrong forum if you're looking for people to agree with you that that isn't something that's possible to have with Fractal products.
I think Fractal is the best digital system but I do think it is still different. I also think that Axe3 fx are the closest thing to classic units there is. Also I am looking at a hybrid rig that is built around the functionality of 3 . I currently use aVH4 for this.

I had an X99 in the 90’s and loved the tones. I’m a 3-4 guitar tones guy as well and the simplicity of the X88-IR is very appealing. Also expecting it to sound great. Have one on the way. May use the FX in my FM3 or considering the VP4.
