I can use some expression pedal advice.

I have a Boss FV 50 H. The pot in it is failing. In the middle of it's range it cuts in and out. I want to replace it but wondering if I could improve it by replacing it with a different kind of pot. I actually use two of these. One is for onstage volume and the second controls various effect such as wah or delay. I want to keep the small footprint and light weight of these pedals but not all that happy with the taper. For instance when I use the one dedicated for volume it's not gradual. In other words it doesn't take much to get too loud or too soft. The second pedal, which is the one starting to fail, seems okay otherwise as an effects pedal. Should I be looking for a different taper or should I be looking at the curve in the Modifier. What kind of curve would you recommend? I'm using a Liquid Foot Controller and it wants to see TRS cables. Don't know what else to add other than I know these are low budget pedals. Any recommendations?

I would personally stick with linear taper in an expression pedal and make adjustments if necessary in the modifier page. I see a lot of guys praising the Moog expression pedals, pretty inexpensive. May not be much more than a replacement pot for your Boss. I personally use a Mission SP-2 and bought it for the dual channel feature ( not made anymore unfortunately) and really like it. If I were purchasing a basic pedal, I think there are less expensive options that will do the job just as well. Here's some of the more recent threads on expression pedal recommendations:
