Humbucker suggestion for versatility (but...)

another thread on pickups... but I need your wise advice on Humbuckers!

I have a guitar spec'd like this (if it matters):
- poplar chambered body / maple top / quarter-sawn maple neck / ebony fretboard with SS frets / 25.5 scale / H-H config

What I'm looking for:
  • med to high output
  • suited for progressive metal and rock
  • great split (both single coils + in between positions)

What I already like / know as a set:
  • suhr ssh+ / suhr ssv (overall great, also split)
  • air norton / tone zone (like them, maybe the split is "meh")
  • fishman modern (love the clarity and sustain for hi-gain, split and cleans are a little bit sterile)

I'm open on suggestions, max budget 450€, should be available in Europe..
@Andy Eagle I summon you!

I suggest the Dimarzio Satchur8. I have it installed on a J-Custom. Versatile. Sweet punch on the mids for solos. Wild on high gain but without harsh highs. Nice warm cleans. It sounds very well in split mode. To be honest, In single coil I prefer it over the Seymour Duncan SSL-5 that I have on a Strat. The SSL-5 is too harsh on the highs; difficult to tame.

If you want to go the BKP route, I'd look at the Holy Diver set. Not one of the "djent" sets (imo of course)
Thanks! I'm considering BK for a different flavour and for the great consideration they receive..
It's down also to availability in European stores, adding the taxes they become pretty expensive

3rd power MAG frags are pretty unique ,3 different Alnico. Magnets in one pickup , the have insane clarity and string seperation more so than even the Fluence

3 level of output
praxis classic hot paf
Praxis +. A hotter version
Riot bucker hotter like a JB

Thanks, I guess the problem is they are not distributed in EU (or I cannot find them)

I'm not sure if this is super helpful, if you're specifically looking for great splits but in the Dimarzio camp looking at neck pickups I'd recommend a Paf Joe. I have one in my RG3120 and for the longest time it was a mystery pickup since the leads were cut so damn short the pickup couldn't be flipped and checked as to what it was. Everyone who played it through a variety of rigs complemented that neck pickup tone, though.

thanks to everyone for your contribution!
I ended up on a local pickup builder (MAMA pickups https://www.mamapickups.com/en/) that have a dynamic split (as I was really interested in the split quality)

I gave them the specs and they suggested:

I made a draft connection just for testing with a 3 way lever and push / push on vol and tone for individual split.
I need more time for testing but they sound great (both hum and single mode)!

Dynamic split? One coil is one coil. What do you mean?
