How to recreate a KORG SDD-3000 pseudo pitched Delay?

Petrocelli

Experienced
I tried to copy the parameters of this UAD Korg SDD-3000 Preset Emulation with the Vintage Digital Delay Block. I used a Modulator with a Square Wave for Delay Time Modulation but couldn't come to this Sounds. Al i created where some glitchy textures but nothing witch switches to different Intervals like the SDD-3000!
The SD-3000 has also a very cool gritty sound when pushed to his limits. So for this i tried to use a clean booster block before (The Drive inside the Delay Block has not this flavour!) - so what would you choose?
Sadly i didn't know how to post a little Audiofile i recorded as an example.:pensive:

There is literally an SDD preamp modelled in the drive blocks (SDD Preamp)? Also I'd avoid the vintage DD, it's nothing like an SDD3000. The repeats on the vintage DD are much more glitchy and degraded than a real SDD. I'd stick with the standard mono DD and add some low and hi cut EQ filters in the delay block.

I don’t think the vintage delay is a model of the sdd-3000. You might want to refer to the wiki to check me on that. If they ever do model it I hope Cliff use an original unit vs. the reissue.

It depends on where you set the bit reduction. The vintage digital defaults to 16 bit reduction, if you lower it down to 11 (which should technically give you the correct sdd3k bit quantization which is 13), you're in the ballpark of the actual sdd3k rack (not the pedal).

if you want to alter pitch, use the mono tape delay and use the motor speed to alter the pitch. you will get smooth transitions that way. just copy over the parameters for the eq etc from the vintage type to the tape type.
Thank you so much - Tape Delay did the Trick!
With an external Square LFO i am able to do a +/- one Octave jump! With the internal Delay Block modulation its even at "High" LFO Depth only possible to switch between two semi Tones!
I switched also a SSD Block in the Delay Path before! Sadly, the Tape Delay has no Bit Reduction Parameter (which makes sense...!), but this would be nice for some extra authenticity.
So maybe Cliff likes to create a Modell of the Korg SDD-3000 sometimes with all bells and whistles?

if you'd searched the forum, you may have found the original preset i posted that does this trick many years ago. leon todd has posted a vid on youtube about it as well. if you haven't already, use the link in my sig to download some presets off my website. you might like some of them.

Yes i didn't search that much but will do it later - i first try to find solutions myself!

Thanks for all the comments and help!
Just made a Preset with six Scenes and used all the new stuff (Citrus Juicer & Deluxe 6G3)
Maybe if someone is interested, here is my Preset!

Love this preset and scene 5. Here's a little clip i did with it. Lowered the delay a little and upped the amp gain to around 6 something but left the rest alone. I'm using my kiesel tim miller m6 guitar.
