How to mix a shimmer in and out?

Hi Guys,

I tried way too long tonight and can't figure this one out. I want to bring a delay/crystal pitch combo in and out with my exp. pedal and have the effect spill when mixed out. I know this must have been done before but I can't get my head around it. Please don't point me to examples in the Axexchange. I can't seem to sign in. :? Thanks for the help.

Connect your expression pedal to the ingain parameter.

I've never done this myself but I believe I understand how to do it.

1) Put the Pitch/Crystals block in parallel with the rest of your signal chain.

2) Use your expression pedal to control the Pitch/Crystal's Input Gain.

What happens is the output of the Pitch block is always feeding into your signal chain. The expression pedal controls how much of your main signal is sent to it.

Play a note/chord, press down the expression pedal, send your signal into the pitch block and it will send its affected output signal into your main signal path.

When you pull back on the expression pedal, the pitch block will still be processing the signal you just sent it (assuming delay time and feedback are set high enough) and outputting it to your main signal path. Anything you play after the expression pedal is all the way back won't get sent to the Pitch block.

You could also use the expression pedal (or a momentary switch) to control the Bypass state of the block with its Bypass Mode set to Mute In. This method will behave in a binary fashion as opposed to the smoother swelling of the expression pedal.
