How to deal with corrupt patches

After all my freezing issues on both mac and PC i installed usb drivers on a pc laptop that had never been used with Axe. Updated to 10.9 and all sermed to work fine. . . Until

When I tried to edit one of my presets axe froze again. This repeated several times.

I then turned axe on without USB, scrolled down to factory preset and then connected USB.

I was editing patches, switching from one to another and no freezes.

Left connected overnight and was still running in the AM.

Looks like one or all of my patches are whacked. Now what? Erase all of them, wipe Axe and start all over?

What causes corrupt presets? What can I do with AE without risking another huge mess?

Generally old Axe-edit causes bad presets. They sometimes won't crop up until firmware changes. Overwite the bad preset with a known good one and recreate.

Great, how do I know a preset is bad? Check them one at a time?

Where is my POD? Lol

Well you can check more than one at a time in you have 2 axe-fxs :) .
If a particular preset is causing the Axe-fx to lock up, then it is either a corrupt preset or a bug in one of the blocks in the preset. A bug can usually be created in another preset pretty easily.
