How-to: Auto-Swell (Fade In)

Hi there guys,

new FX8 owner here. :-)

Could any of you knowledgeable folk tell me how to programm a patch that simulates me using a volume pedal to "swell in" sustaining chords? You know, like "Volume off -> Hit a big chord -> push down on volume pedal and slowly swell the sound in, let it ring -> push volume back to off -> repeat."

Any hints would be very welcome!

Thank you very much!

Thanks for your reply Rex!

Please consider me a total noob, therefor i'm sorry but i don't understand exactly what you're saying or how to do that... o_O

I have a volume swell setup like this. It does what I need it to. Add a Volume/Pan block to your preset. click on the Volume block to show it's parameters. Right click on the main volume knob to add a modifier (see pic). If you set the parameters illustrated it should work. It does for me

Grab the manual, and read then section on modifiers. Then come back, and we'll get started.

Thanks m8, great response with the screenshots! I did what you described but that didn't work for me with the Envelope modifier, there was no fading sound at all.

You are right, i did that now. :-)
I do understand ADSR, Envelope and all the other controller types and know i now how to attach a controller to a knob, cool!

I got it working after i found the "internal controller settings" page and tweaked the ADSR1 modifier.
I had the threshold way too high initially, so the ADSR never triggered! ;)

All good, thank you guys again!
