How should I tone match my Axe-Fx III

Should I use Pink noise, White noise, Sine wave sweep or IR capture? How loud of a signal should I send to my III? Should it tickle the red? Should I send different level signals?

I use my Axe-Fx III for recording and my Axe-Fx II for my live rig bc I can use my FAMC Liquid Foot+ MFC to sync in real time with the II. I mostly use FAS amp models and they sound 99% the same to me when comparing the II and III.

I really like how easy it is to blend IR's in the Axe-Fx III. I have Cab Lab 3 but have never been able to get it to work correctly and it takes over 10 seconds to load mixes into my Axe-Fx II.

You can shoot IRs from a user cab slot, that way you can verify frequency, phase and impact. With the synth and the TMA I never got all 3 perfect, the phase was never correct. It finally worked with the IR program in studio one. That software is not free though.
Might be cheaper and faster to find a different IR for the Axe-fx II that fits your bill?
