How are you attaching your FM9 to your pedal board?

My pedal board is one of these velcro lined tray plus a large lid type of boxes. I used the same method with my AX8 and just recycled it for my FM9. I cut a couple small rectangles of MDF board and put velcro on both sides. One side to attach to the velcro lined tray, the other side to attach to the bottom of my FM9 (or AX8 as seen in the pic). Pretty low tech, but it works fine.Photo Jan 15, 5 01 50 PM.jpgPhoto Jan 15, 4 17 55 PM.jpgPhoto Jan 15, 5 09 41 PM.jpg

It took a little while but I think it's going to hold-

I kept using it un-optiminally, hoping for a jam session. Clearly not the same kind of 'jam' they were referring to. Pfft..

Heres a silly question. I bought the Temple audio duo34, I want to run the xlrs to the side as u have however the mount plates/ face of the neutrik xlr is too small to attatch to the side board. I see you used a sort of plate behind? Or did u buy a an assembled 4 piece xlr mod with plate that fits in side of board?
Not sure if I'm understanding your question but I purchased these for the XLRs https://www.templeaudio.com/punched-plates

Temple Audio makes a module specifically for this...the Temple Audio Pass-Thru Male/Male XLR Module. Not cheap, but solves your problem. Otherwise you can try the Temple Audio 4-Way ¼" Jack Patch Module.

I don't know of a Neutrik XLR jack that makes its connections easily underneath the board. If perhaps you do find one, please let use know where you found it.

I used…

https://www.templeaudio.com/4x-mod on the right side for the guitar input and two foot pedals. (For use with the foot pedals I highly recommend cutting the trace to avoid mystifying behavior in the modeler when the pedal isn’t working or isn’t plugged in. Open the unit by removing the nuts holding the jacks to the housing plate, and you’ll see the circled traces to cut for those particular inputs.) Use 1/4” TS and two conductor cable for the guitar, and TRS with three-conductor wire for the pedals. I started with https://a.co/d/4CvjYQH for most of my TRS connections.

On the left side I have a https://www.templeaudio.com/xlr-mod for my OUT 1 XLR. I recommend sticking with the MALE/MALE configuration to avoid reversing the direction of XLR cables you plug in. It comes with two XLR->1/4” TRS cables, but they are long shell XLRs, so I wired some Switchcraft low-profile XLR right angle female connectors to 1/4” TRS to reduce the profile of the connections on the back of the modeler.

I also have their https://www.templeaudio.com/iec-mod on the micro-hole on the back left to keep the possibility of AC noise away from the guitar signal on the other side of the board. I cut and resoldered the pigtail so I could pass it through the board, but found out from talking to Temple Audio, that a lot of people simply disassemble the unit, feed it through the board, and reassemble it. Sigh….

I recently added a low-profile USB extension with a down-angle to a Switchcraft USB D-panel connector to the right side micro-panel using one of their micro plates. Temple sells a similar USB micro mod, but I could get it pretty quickly from Amazon, and it’s rotatable inside its mount so I could adjust how the cable was oriented.

This shows how the back panel looks…

D-panel sized connectors are available in all sorts of connections but finding them can be a major PITA. Amazon has some, and there are companies who specialize in them, so look around for what you need. The Temple Audio side plates are the jumping off place then.
