HELP - Trying to run Axe FX II with studio monitors OUT 2 and PA OUT 1

Hi there.

I have been playing around with the Axe FX II with my new Adam A5Xs, and things are going well. However, I wanted to run the Adams along with my Alto 112a PA together (using the different outputs) to compare the two and ensure my tones are consistent in different situations (live/studio).

Now, I have already been using the Adam studio monitors through OUTPUT 1, using 1/4" unbalanced jacks, and it works perfectly. However, the Alto PA uses the XLR output, so that is basically tied to OUTPUT 1. My problem occurs when I used the 1/4 unbalanced jacks on OUTPUT 2 for the Adams (which in theory should work exactly the same as OUTPUT 1?). Basically the Alto PA runs perfectly with OUTPUT 1 XLR, but the Adams don't monitor any sound from the Axe FX II's OUTPUT 2 (and they crackle a little bit).

I have checked over the I/O > AUDIO menu and OUTPUT 1 and 2 seem to be set the same, so I don't see how there should be any problem at all.

I am pretty new to the Axe, having only had it for a month, so if you could help, that would be brilliant!

I might also add that I have tried OUTPUT 2 on its own with the Adams, and received the same result, with OUTPUT 2 selected. I have also made sure OUT 1 -> OUT 2 was enabled, with the same issue.

Zaphoid, I will try your suggestion. I just thought there would have been a cleaner alternative, rather than having to had an additional block to every preset I am likely to use.

out 2 volume knob turned up on the front of the axe?

you shouldn't need to add thr fxl block if you have copy out 1 to out 2 enabled.

are you using balanced cables from out 2? out 2 only supports unbalanced cables

Hey guys, identical setup here, monitor speakers + alto112a, but I need a different approach. I would like to use the frfr alto through output 1 only for my guitar and the monitor speakers through out 2 for backing tracks from a cd inside the computer. I read the manual several times but I don't know how to do this, because if I connect the pc to the axe the sound goes to out 1. Any clues?

Hey guys, i'm fairly new using both cabinet and monitors at the same time but what i'd like to know is.. if im using a laptop and the axe via USB, i've connected my mixing monitors to the rear output 2 using instrument cables (only cables i have for now until i get my XLR). Since i don't own a separate interface to control the pc's/axe sound coming out.. im using my axe as one so.. I would want to just the USB cable to use my laptop AND the axe together.

What would I need to configure on the axe itself to get both sounds coming out of only the mixing monitors?? I've configured everything on my software and pc settings to the axe fx output already but no sound comes out of the monitors..
