Health Supplements. What are your favorites?

Fractal Fanatic
I take around twenty or so supplements, vitamins, herbs, minerals, peptides daily (mostly consistent) that change at times for many years. I've recently rediscovered kava kava and how well it works for relaxation before bed. Vitamin D & K are always in the mix, certain B vitamins and others. Don't do doctors unless absolutely necessary, and research more natural options for health-related stuff.

Anyone have favorite supplements they use? There are many more on my list depending on what effect - energy, memory, alertness, sleep...

Nutritional yeast is my favorite.

I tried taking D with K and it didn’t go well with my tummy.

I take some electrolytes too.

Kava kava sounds interesting as I have trouble sleeping.

Bioflavonoids
I may have to revisit this one... tried it years ago but don't remember the effects.
I actually drink about 2 ounces of scotch before bed every evening... met a few people through the years that lived longer and had a sharp mind more so than average, and swore by a drink in the evening. Too much is detrimental to health though.

D is the number one supplement I would recommend to anyone. Immune, mental, inflammation - very important.
powerwalks.

I've read studies that say, doing things to get your heart rate up and blood circulating can be more beneficial than most any supplement. I used to walk every other day and it really helped even with mental health also, or at least seemed to brighten my attitude.

Unless it’s raining, I take a walk at lunchtime every day. Ok, there were a few days in my Michigan winter that I skipped due to snow, but otherwise I found that my body adjusted to temperature extremes. Summer is actually worse as there’s no way to not sweat. Lol.

Curcumin Phytosome 3 times a day.

I used to ski freestyle competitively, lots of bumps and aerials. Your knees are lousy shock absorbers. After an ACL tear and surgery in my late 20's, I was left with no cartilage in my right knee. I was told I would likely need a knee replacement eventually.

About 10 years ago my knee was starting to hurt pretty bad after even a few hours of skiing. Docs wanted to prescribe some powerful anti-inflammatories but I was concerned about side effects. My GP recommended Curcumin and gave me some literature that it was more effective than Celebrex with less side effects. I've been taking them ever since. I still ski every winter, although I keep my skis on the snow now and stick to the blue groomies.

Since then all kinds of studies are being done on Curcumin for so many different things, Cancer prevention and treatment, immune support, blood sugar regulation - the list of therapeutic uses goes on and on.

For those interested here's a PubMed article on the National Institute of Health's Library of Medicine:

#1 on my list is 1000mg of fish oil per day. I have low HDL naturally and over time the fish oil supplement has steadily increased it over time. Niacin only got me in the 31-35 range. The Fish oil raised it to 45 within the next few years (40+ is the target).

Jocko Greens (I hate the way Athletic Greens AG1 tastes)
DHEA
Berberine
Resveratrol
Krill oil
Cod liver oil (aka fish oil)
NMN
Turmeric
Pantothenic acid
Cholecalciferol (Vit. D3)
Creatine monohydrate

Mostly based on Mike Simpson's (Special Forces MD) and Peter Attia's (former cancer surgeon - longevity SME) lists. I started mainlining what these guys were talking about that year I was in med school trying to keep up with kids half my age (it wasn't that long ago).
