Hi everyone,

first post for me, first day with my fx 3 (trying to cope with the disconnected Editor after 30mn / 1h), and I wanted to seek your knowledge on what presets / block chain would get the closest to the glorious Guthrie Govan tone on his Heart of the City tune (West Coast Grooves).
I gathered that he mostly uses factory presets (with a Friedman), but there is fuzzy tone I can get my head around.

Any help would be most appreciated!!

Thanks!

So I tried my luck, and this is what I have:

1. Jam Ray (default settings)
2. Friedman BE C45
3. cab Rev 212
4. Rev: Sun Plate

Any ideas on how to get closer to the master tone?

I've had the 3 for about 8 months now. One thing I've learned is how essential the Cab block is to the overall tone. One thinks "Amp", and in my mind at least, I just assume any speaker/cab/mic situation will be true to the sound in your head. NOT the case.

I think a Mesa 412 (Check out York Audio's IRs.) with V30s will be more genuine in the Cab block. I thought he used a Suhr Badger 30?

Ah, I just saw Brett Kingman's demo. He uses the c45 on the IIXL+. Hmmmmm......
