maybe - could be due to the matched impedance curve?all this "clearer" thing is just because of the shorter IR length no ? so less bass... just put 1024 ir length in the classic cab and it should be as clear

Marco who I figure is probably in the know said Royer in one of his vidsOk, so we finally found out what mic the condenser option in the dyna-cabs is
Only the ribbon remains unknown now
I'd guess the Shure KSM313.R121 ?
Dynamic 1?Best sounding condenser mic I've ever used (hint, hint, wink, wink).
The dynamics are both shuresDynamic 1?
Well here I was thinking that the condenser was an AT4047Best sounding condenser mic I've ever used (hint, hint, wink, wink).
He's also praised the Beyer M160I remember an older thread where Cliff said he likes the Shure over 121's.
Dyna Cab ribbon does not sound like a Beyer M160 to me?He's also praised the Beyer M160
My bet is on the 313 and I agree, M160!Dyna Cab ribbon does not sound like a Beyer M160 to me?
More like the Shure or Royer IMO?
Ultimately I would LOVE a M160 in Dyna Cab, as well as a Marshall 4X12 with 75W'ers!
Yeah I agree - 160 tends to have more midrange and less thump, a good all rounder.Dyna Cab ribbon does not sound like a Beyer M160 to me?
It does, but it has something at the bottom end that none of the other mics in the shootout really recreate. They are an expensive mic, so I've never taken the plunge, but strangely although I agree with your comments, I'd love to find a budget alternative. I can see the point of them.It never ceases to amaze me how crap the Royer 121 sounds. Le siiiiighhhhhhhh.
