Global EQ / Resonance Question

I seem to have an issue where roughly all the notes on the low E string between frets 5-9 are louder than other bass notes, regardless of the preset i'm using....it's as if the "resonance" knob on my 5150 amp is cranked all the way up, but only for those notes and in every factory preset....anyone have an issue w/ that? is it perhaps a global EQ setting that i need to modify? Thanks!

It is probably your room and the location of your speakers.
Does it happen in other locations?

I've tried it running thru the PA on one side of the room, and also thru the effects return in the 5150 amp into a mesa 4x12 on the other side of the room....you bring up a good point that it could be the room....i'll try moving the amp outside the room and see if it still happens. thanks.
