Glassy Clean Test

To me this has always been the litmus test of glassy cleans:

Satch definitely had his own thing going for cleans (and other) guitar tones on that album. I like listening to it, but would never use those clean tones myself.

I guess there are many definitions of "glassy" clean tones. I prefer mine a bit more "rounded" (like a tube) vs sharp (like a glass pane).

But that is one of my all time favorite albums. :)
 
Interesting how when we use words like "glassy", "air", "spanky", etc to describe tone, how they mean different things to different people. The glassy tones is this thread have a fast, hard attack with little sustain. To me, "glassy" means "chimey" with lots of sustain, but even that description will mean different things to different people :)
