FM9 Firmware Version 11.0

What do you need to do exactly (or change) to remove the error though?

Change the Settings --> I/O --> Audio --> 'WordClock' = "INTERNAL".

Alternatively, you can use the 'WordClock' = "SPDIF (NO CLOCK)" setting as long as the external (not the FM9) clock source is set to 48khz and the signal is detected by the FM9.

From the release notes:
"New warning shown in the mini-tuner graphic when an external S/PDIF clock is not detected or at a frequency
other than 48 kHz. Check the Word Clock setting in the Audio I/O Setup menu if the warning appears."

Can anyone comment on whether the presumed CPU increase has impacted your kitchen sink type presets? Just curious if it's been an issue for anyone or not. Thanks.

I checked all my amps. I only have about 15-20 so wasn't a big task. After the firmware upgrade the only 2 that was incorrect on tube hardness was AC-20 and the Matchless, both using EF86. They were both 2.50. I switched to another preamp tube then back again and it reset to 7.6 or something like that.
I happened to have one preset with the Matchless EF86 and experienced the same thing. Reselecting the EF86 tube (you don't have to change it) bumped hardness from 2.5 to 7.4.
You guys are at least making me feel better… I def. don’t feel like I explained it well enough bc I think Cliff misunderstood what I was trying to get at. This at least makes me feel like I’m not losing my mind - it definitely seems like something in the 11.0 GA installation process changed all of my ef86 to 2.5, because I had gone through them all and manually updated back to 7.4 in 11.0b2.

Mine is working good with the update with one weird thing. I updated before practice (and did the "Refresh After New Firmware") and did a quick sound test and flipped through my presets/scenes and all sounded pretty much still where it needed to be. The weird thing was I did not take the time to check my custom layout settings and on a couple of my switches the press and hold got added for "return to previous scene" (I don't have any press and hold switches in my layout). I could not figure out what was going on until I got home and took a look in FM9-Edit. Very easy fix and all is working as it should now but just wanted to point out to take a quick look at that after the update if you have a show or something.

Finally upgraded about 2 hours ago from 9.01 to 11.0, I can sincerely say I love 11.00 so far.

I was worried about my pushing 79-81 percent Kitchen Sink Super Serial 8 scene plus stomps favorite presets are really still toggling between]
79-81 percent max like before. I double checked them before I loaded 11.0 so I'd know where they were running since they were
so close.

Turned everything on for a few minutes and no problem even with the digital capo pitch shifter on!
I was really expecting to have to delete a block on these, but no way now! Tested All of those borderline presets!!!

This really depends on what version you’re coming from. Back several revisions ago when the comps had a major overhaul, I noticed a huge hit. From 10 to 11, however was (at first glance) almost zero change in my kitchen sink presets.

Well played sir. You had to wait 10 rounds before landing this punch. This round is yours my friend!
We'll after update 11 on my Ultra back in 2011 which was the last time it had an update and finally upgrading to the FM9 months ago, I say it was worth the wait for that. 😂

Thank you!!!!! Matchless w/ ef86 is my #1 go to about these days. I just haven’t touched it this week, besides in finally bought Austin buddy’s gold pack and have buried in those. Much appreciated!!!

I've wondered about this also. The depth parameter in the amp block is goofy to me.
Actually just got some really good answers to this and the soft reset preamp tube hardness questions I had over in the wiki: for anybody else wondering: https://wiki.fractalaudio.com/wiki/index.php?title=Amp_block#Dedicated_Amp_Soft_Reset

Updated yesterday no issues. Sounds fantastic. Thank you Fractal team for the continuous pursuit of greatness.

I don't normally notice the dramatic improvements in new firmware that everyone else does. Pretty much that amps seem to be about the same. Which is excellent. However, one thing I did notice and I'm not sure if its maybe just in my head. A couple firmware's ago, the Morgan AC-20 EF86 was my go to #1 amp. Then with a firmware update (10 I think) it didn't seem that it was as good sounding. The go to was my number 2, The matchless DC-30 EF86. Now after the FW 11 update the AC-20 is sounding fantastic again, better than it ever did. As I said, not sure if I'm imagining this or not.

FM9 mkI Turbo owner,
Updated, no problems so far!
Can confirm the issue on the EF86 preamp tube, had to reselect it.
Sounds and feels great, I am very happy!
Maybe it is placebo, but It feels better under the fingers. Tell me I am not crazy, please!

They both sound and feel so good to me it’s wild. I’m with you - kept flip flopping till I finally just decided to make the DC-30 home base, but the AC-20 is sooo good.

Finally updated last night.

It's entirely possible it's confirmation bias, but, it does really seem like it sounds 10-15% better.

But it already sounded really good, such that I always get complements on my tone from other guitarists, so who knows lol.

Another great release, I haven't noticed any negative CPU usages or anything that impacts my flow. Hope y'all are ready for the ice storm in southern NH.

Updated with no issues.

The sounds...oh my god.
So amazing.

I stayed up until almost 3 in the morning last week on beta 1.

Had a chance last night on the recent update.
Again...friggin' amazing!

Thank you FAS.
