FM9 Firmware Version 10.0

The guitar is professionally set up and plek’d.

You’re agreeing with what I say, without any drive effects I still hear a slight warble.
Fractal is very close to perfection if they can fix the final 10%. There’s going to be an influx of Digitech drops on the market soon.
With pitch effects there are trade-offs in the behaviour depending what you prioritize. Cliff prioritized broad functionality especially on complex chords (he posted some complex ringing appregios where the fractal algorithm outperformed the competition). The trade-off for this seems to be that there's a little more warble on simpler cases than other approaches.

We can debate whether that was the ideal optimization, but it does appear to be working as intended currently.

Since the second bullet in the release notes states:
"● Improved Amp block preamp modeling. Most amp models have been updated as a result. Audition presets and adjust as necessary."

Is it wise or beneficial to perform a soft reset to the amps on all of a users custom presets after updating to V10.0? This would need to done to take advantage of the "Improved Amp block preamp modeling" for your existing custom presets, correct?

Not needed. The improved modeling is part of the firmware. You have it there once the firmware is loaded.

The release notes mentioned auditioning as the Amp block might sound different than you expect from previous firmware.

just finished a short tour, so excited to try this when I'll have a little time to tweak!
Hey now, GC! You're getting a great, traditional sound now with a very non-traditional rig which I think many people would find mind blowing. I'd be very curious to hear your thoughts on this release and whether you needed to make any tweaks for your live gigs.

I haven't had to really tweak much over the last few firmwares - they usually just sound increementally better - am interested to try out that new Vibroverb dynacab though...

Tuning and intonation are pertinent to any use case. If the guitar (or DI track, etc.) is out of tune, pitch block tracking will not perform optimally.
That is a great point. In my case my guitars are perfectly intonated along with tuning. I'm OCD about those types of things since I'm sensitive to guitars that are not setup correctly.

I greatly appreciate the improvements in the pitch block, huge improvements over the years, they're much better, but there is more to be done, I hope Cliff will continue working on them.

I can at last use the Vibroverb Dynacab. It is very much improved in my humble opinion. Tightened up and just responds and sounds like I expect it to.

I'm experiencing a visible lag between scene changes. The audio changes immediately, but the button light seems to take a second to catch up. Is anyone else experiencing this? I have a first version fm9, not turbo. Nevermind... I think I was just exceeding the cpu dangit!

Have turbo version, and I experienced lag as well when it comes to switching. So I just reinstalled previous FW, and then everything worked as intended.

I think you nailed it... That's a sign of CPU overload.

Do you experience less gain in your presets? I mainly use the euro blue model. Way less gain now.
I did a quick test function test last night after going from v9.02 to v10.0 just to make sure the unit was working. I only played on one preset but I felt it had a lot less gain. The amp used was the Friedman HBE C45.
