It's sort of the same as the buffer in your DAW, but on the hardware side.
Manual:
"Set this to lower values for less latency with USB Audio, set to higher values if you are experiencing distorted audio.
Thanks for the explanation, Alexander!

Would it be right to say the following?
1- the adjustment of the USB buffer size never changes the sound of output 1 and output 2 (analog outputs).
2- the adjustment of the USB buffer size never changes the latency of output 1 and output 2 (analog outputs).
3- the adjustment of the USB buffer size never affects to the audio signal received from the DAW through the USB cable.
4- the adjustment of the USB buffer size only affects to the audio signal sent from the FM3 to the DAW. So it is a setting exclusively useful for recording.
5- when recording, it is always recommended to set the USB buffer size to the lowest value (taking care to not clip the audio signal)

Stop USB audio streaming when changing this value so as to allow the buffer to reset properly. Streaming can be stopped by closing the application sending data to the Axe-Fx III or by disconnecting the USB cable.
Does it mean "close the DAW, change buffer size of FM3, and open again the DAW"?

You can view the buffer in Setup > Utilities > USB.
Maybe in AXE-FX III?
Buffer size adjustment in FM3 is in Setup > I/O > Audio

"This page meters the USB input and output FIFO buffers. Ideally these will be at around 50%. If the buffer overflows or underflows, USB Buffer Size should be increased. Remember that you need to quit all audio applications or remove and reconnect the USB cable to reset the buffer."
I cannot find these meters anywhere in the setup menus.
I can see the levels of USB in & out in the Home page/Meters, but I guess these are not the ones you are talking about.
Are these meters only available in AXE FX III?

PS: I haven't found any information regarding buffer size in FM3 manuals. It would be helpful that FAS add some single pages with this info in the zip of the stable firmware.

I'm upgraded to the beta last night all sounding good but noticed a bug in the Amp settings / dynamics / output compressor and wanted to flag this with the Fractal team

Changing to Gain enhancer and increasing the Out Compression dial the signal cuts out and I end up with a dry signal - the amp sound dissapears and the FM3 and edit freeze up requiring a reset.

Running a MacBook OS Catalina 10.15.7

Another bug found...there seems to be problems using switches on FM3 + FC6 major latency changing scenes follows by cutting out and getting a dry signal requiring a reboot

A report like this is kind of useless unless you provide a preset and settings.

Sorry not familiar with the protocol for flagging up potential bugs, preset attached.
Seems to crash when changing scenes whilst playing anything palm muted/open chords.
This preset was woking fine with the previous beta of Cygnus, this fault has started happening since the update last night.

Running a MacBook Pro 2015 2.7 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 with OS Catalina 10.15.7

Cheers

So far, the only persistent bug I've found is the flickering mini-displays when "Footswitch Tuner Mode" is enabled. Whenever there's a change in the graphics, there's flickering horizontal lines occurring. Otherwise, very solid build I'd say.

@AJ Vargas , if you enable Copy Out 1 to 2.
If you go to a preset, and "zoom" on the FM3, do you see OUT2 VU as active ?? Could you check that please ?

OUT 1 VU works for me ...but not OUT2 VU, cheers.

Just checked, and VU isn't active on Out 2 config: Copy Output 1.

Once you put the Output 2 block in the grid, VU meter becomes active. And on a side note, having both outputs in parallel I can see in the preset leveling tool that Out 2 gets around -20dB less than Out 1.

Edit: Check Yek's response on Copy Out 1.

Thanks for confirming guys.....
@Admin M@
Was it always this way??? Pretty sure I had 2 sets of VU's in the past...in Zoom mode. This was comforting as I could signal going out on OUT2.
Thanks !

I just had a look and found that the output 2 meters, both on the unit and in the preset levelling screen in FM3 edit appeared not to be working until I engaged Line Level on out 2.

There is no difference on the VU meters with Copy 1 > 2. So the meters for Out2 will always be the same as for Out1 in that scenario.

Pretty sure it used to be active, can anyone confirm this ?
There is a VU for OUT2 in Zoom mode.....why would you not represent the signal that is coming out of it with an active VU....
