Have you tried releasing down the gain knob on the amp settings what is diffirence between input trim ? do you guys adjust the input trim i never did that
From the Blocks Guide:

Input Trim – This control allows you to modify any model to have more or less gain than would be possible with the regular controls. This is different from the Gain in that it does NOT interact with the surrounding circuitry to change frequency response. In other words, use Input Trim to adjust gain without also changing tone.

Also, as previously mentioned:

.500 simulates the normal input so try lowering it further...

Just adding some more context here since this initially read to me as if .500 should be the default input trim setting across all amps, which isn't true (and I know now that's not what you were saying).

There are two Normal inputs on the real amp in question (Deluxe Verb). The default input trim of 1.0 simulates Normal input 1 and an input trim of .500 would simulate Normal input 2 (-6db).

In general though, for amps without a high and low input configuration, an input trim of 1 is "right".

The advice to try lowering it further still stands, of course.

From the wiki:
Values above 1 increase the level. Values below 1 lower the level. 1 is unity gain, 2 is twice as much.

...

If the real amp has two inputs, for example Low and High, the model is always based on the High input. Set Input Trim to 0.500 to get the equivalent of the Low input.

To translate Input Trim values to dB, use the formula: 20 * LOG10(trim value). In other words: calculate the LOG10 result of the input trim value, and multiply this with 20. Use the LOG10 function on a scientific calculator. For example:

  • Input Trim at 0.500 = -6dB, because: 20*LOG10(0.5)
  • Input Trim at 4 = 12dB, because: 20*LOG10(4)

it should be at least 1.000 as default i know. 0.500 simulates low input no need for hi gain stuff

We were all set, but we're now integrating the new changes from Axe-Fx III 28.05. There will be a private beta this week and we'll fold it all in to the release of 10.0.

And with "increment by 0"? ;)

On a serious note, I'm loving the beta and looking forward to the new official version ...

So glad I bought into the Fractal ecosystem - the support and development of the products is simply awesome - kudos to the FAS team.

The FM3 is a dream come true for me. I remember using my brother's Boss GT-8 in the early 2000s and, even then, playing the simulated amps I was getting "uncanny valley". Just didn't scratch the itch. Since then I've played in multiple metal bands and heard different amps in person (Dual Rec, Marshalls, Engls, 5150s). The block letter 5150 combo is the sound I'm most familiar with. When I turned on my FM3 the first time and went to the 5150 preset and hit that first chord, I was like "This is it. They nailed it."

Y'all are the best. Can't wait for the other remastered amps!
