I'm comparing to a number of other good ones, including: Xitone, Atomic CLR, EV PXM, Redsound Elis.8, and Blueamps Cubo. Each one of those excels at many things, and I haven't found one solution that covers everything perfectly. For instance, neither the Elis.8 or Cubo have a line out.
All that being said, I firmly believe that the FR-10s with a high quality preamp is likely to compete with the positives of each one of those I mentioned above, and will almost certainly exceed what my relatively meager needs are at this time. That being said, due to its versatility and utility, I can't see getting rid of the EV.
