Expression pedal help!

A lot of expression pedals have a knob on the side that controls the amount of range it has, make sure it all the way open. That's gotten me a number of times. Fyi, I use (2) Nektar expressions pedals ($20 each at Sweetwater) and they work perfect, are small and super light.
