Excess CPU Usage all of a sudden

Did you start sending it MIDI messages? Hook up a previously unused USB? Did the moon change phases? :)

Running at over 90% CPU is a bit like driving your car at speeds just below what its suspension and steering can handle. One pebble is all it takes to send you tumbling off the road.

thanks for the reply.

It turns out that my DAW (Logic) was using the Axe USB as output...thus, driving up the CPU usage. Switched it back to my audio interface and problem solved.

This. Whenever there is an issue, share with everyone the solution, so that the community as a whole can learn, and help others the next time it happens. At the very least, it becomes a lot easier for a user searching for a solution some time in the future.
