Everything you've always wanted to know about LEVELS (III, FM3, FM9)

INPUT 1 GAIN
  • The Axe-Fx III provides a parameter to adjust ALL presets for variations in guitar output level: Setup : I/O : Input : Input 1 Gain. It trims the level of Input 1 before the start of the grid so, unlike the A/D Input Level parameters, it has affects blocks such as the virtual amplifier.
  • The FM3 doesn't provide this parameter.
Hi Alexander, FM3 has now this parameter (fw 7.00)

Thanks for the OP, very useful.

Thanks for this @yek This is something I just wanted to confirm. The preset levelling tool in the Editor (that pops out) is identical to the levels on the hardware itself? Yesterday I was jamming and had to adjust amp levels, and I was wishing I had the 'preset level tool' - but its basically just the output on the meters page?

The Preset Leveling Tool controls the Level of the Amp block.

Hello, I am just new here. I have FM3. so if i go on stereo, what is my main volume knob? 1 or 2? or should i use them both?

They map to the outputs Output 1 and output 2.

If you are running stereo XLR's out of Output 1, then you turn up output 1 volume. Turn up the volume so that your input source receives a good signal (based on your preset levels) - whether that is a sound desk, mixer, etc.
